  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, salt, and pepper in a dish and then dredge the chicken slices in the flour mixture. Make sure to coat each side of the chicken.
  2. Add the butter to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted, add the chicken slices and cook them for 4 to 5 minutes per side. Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the pan and set it aside.
  3. Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook them for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Once the mushrooms are cooked, add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Turn the heat to high and add the Marsala wine to the skillet. Allow the mixture to come to a boil, stirring continuously. As the mixture boils, scrape the bottom of the skillet with a spoon or spatula to loosen any bits of chicken or mushrooms from the bottom.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and add the chicken broth. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and continue to simmer for another 5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced and thickened.
  7. Serve the chicken marsala over pasta or mashed potatoes and add a sprinkle of parsley or chives as a garnish.
