Easy Pan Andouille Sausage and Rice Recipe
Rice and Sausage is a classic combination and this Easy Pan Andouille Sausage and Rice Recipe is perfect for busy weeknights. This simple recipe is quick, easy and delicious. Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 package Andouille Sausage (sliced into 1/4 inch rounds)
1 onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 cups white rice
4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Add the onions to the same skillet and sauté over medium heat until softened and slightly golden. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add the rice and cook, stirring until all the grains are coated in oil and lightly toasted. Add the broth and stir to mix. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Cover the pan and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
Return the sausage to the pan and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
